2008 has started with First Huddersfield celebrating 125 years of buses in Huddersfield by repainting Volvo Olympian 30843 into Huddersfield corporation livery and Arriva Yorkshire have started to put into service their new East Lancs Olympus double deckers on service 110 between Leeds and Wakefield

STAGECOACH HUDDERSFIELD AND K-LINE SOLD
In a shock announcement, Stagecoach Huddersfield has not been sold to Arriva but has instead been sold to Centrebus Holdings who have renamed the Waterloo based operations as 'Huddersfield Bus Company. A further shock is that Centrebus have also purchased K-Line. There are currently no changes to either fleet except that the Stagecoach buses have lost their Stagecoach fleetnames and gained new legal lettering

MAY BANK HOLIDAY BUS SERVICES
A Sunday service will operate in West Yorkshire on Monday 5th May and 26th May. Arriva service 403 and Longstaffs 205 will operate to a special timetable. First York service 120 and Harrogate & District service 767 will operate normal Monday services. Yorkshire Coastliner will operate a Saturday service

NEW LEEDS BUS DEPOT
First Leeds' new bus depot off South Accomodation Road is now due to open on Sunday 17th May. The new depot will be known as Hunslet Park and will result in service and bus allocation changes to the First Leeds operations particiularly involving Cherry Row along with the closure of Kirkstall Road depot

ARRIVA TO TAKE OVER STAGECOACH HUDDERSFIELD?
Arriva are currently in talks with Stagecoach to take over the former Yorkshire Traction operations in Huddersfield. The Huddersfield depot is remote from the rest of the Stagecoach Yorkshire area and would fit in with Arriva's operations in West Yorkshire

NEW BUSES ARRIVING IN BRADFORD
The new Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Geminis and Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse Urbans are starting to arrive in Bradford and should be entering service shortly

T.J. WALSH TO GET LOW FLOORS
T.J Walsh are to introduce their first ever low floor buses this Spring. Two Optare Solos are to be purchased in conjunction with Metro to operate tendered services 504 and E3-E6.

NEW OPERATOR IN HUDDERSFIELD
There will be a new operator on the streets of Huddersfield from Monday 28th April. Sunny Travel will operate new service 324A every 30 minutes between Huddersfield and Meltham. They are expected to be connected to the former Paul's Travel operation

STAND CHANGES AT LEEDS CITY BUS STATION
Metro are introducing some stand changes at Leeds CBS from Monday 10th March. Service 96 moves to Stand 1 with Services 55 & X62 moving to Stand 21. The FreeCityBus moves to stand 2. Service 28 and 97 will no longer use the Bus Station but will instead depart from Eastgate stop G9. These changes are thought to be an increased safety measure surrounding the use of dual door buses in the Bus Station

125 YEARS OF HUDDERSFIELD BUSES
First are celebrating 125 years of buses in Huddersfield by repainting Volvo Olympian/Alexander Royale 30843 into Huddersfield red and cream livery

OLYMPUS IN SERVICE
Arriva Yorkshire have started to put their new East Lancs Olympus double deckers into service. So far 1800 & 1801 are in use. They carry route branding for servic 110. A dedicated website has also been introduced see
