• New Dewsbury FreeTownBus - Dewsbury is the latest town to receive a MetroConnect FreeTownBus. Star Travel will operate the service operating every 10 minutes around Dewsbury town centre.

• New Thornton to Halifax link - A new Metro funded service will be introduced operated by First West Yorkshire. Service 505 will operate a single return journey Monday to Fridays between Four Lane Ends, Thornton and Halifax

• CHANGES

• First West Yorkshire: Minor timetable changes will be introduced on services 5 & 5A 

• Halifax Joint Committee: A revised timetable will be introduced on service 357 with buses now extending to Crosland Road. Service 995 will be withdrawn

• Stotts: Service 335 will be extended to Holme Valley Hospital with a revised timetable

• Transdev Keighley & District: Minor timetable and route changes will be introduced on services 65, 708, 717 & 719

• Utopia Coaches: A revised timetable will be introduced on service 923

Free Halifax Town Centre Shoppers Service

From Monday 30th November 2009 to Saturday 9th January 2010, a free festive shoppers service will operate around Halifax town centre. Serving the bus station, rail station and shopping areas, the service will operate Monday to Saturday daytimes between 1000 and 1600 every 12 minutes. On Thursdays 3, 10 & 17 December, buses will operate until 2000. TJ Walsh will operate this service

Leeds Park & Ride services

From Saturday 14th November to Saturday 19th December, two free Park & Ride services will operate on Saturdays. Service 555 will run from Burley Road (near YTV) to The Headrow, Service 888 will run from Woodhouse Moor to The Headrow. Buses run every 10 minutes 0930 to 1820 and will be operated by First Leeds

• MAIN HEADLINES

• New Colne Valley Link - A new Metro funded service will be introduced operated by Stotts. Service 388 will operate hourly from Meltham to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary via Milnsbridge. Mount Taxis operated Metro Local services ML15 & ML17 will be withdrawn

• New service to Bolton - Rossendale Transport will withdraw service 49 and replace it with new service 273. This will run hourly from Todmorden to Bacup and then extending to Rawtenstall and Bolton

• CHANGES

• Arriva Yorkshire: A minor route change will be made to service 59 and a minor time change will be made to service 173

• First West Yorkshire: Minor timetable changes will be introduced on services 4, 5A, 16/16A, 18A, 35, 49, 50/50A, 61, 71, 88, 307, 328, 627, 846 & X35

• K-Line: On service 315, the 1750 from Huddersfield will be withdrawn

• Stagecoach in Yorkshire: Minor changes will be made to service 46 and Sunday late evening journeys will be withdrawn on service 36 

Service 850 Bradford to Ilkley (operated by Jacksons of Silsden)

Operates one journey at 0930 from Bradford and 1743 from Ilkley on Sundays 15th November, 27th December, 17th January, 21st February, 21st March, providing a connection to services 874 & 883

Service 870 Wakefield to Ilkley via Otley (operated by Arriva Yorkshire)

This service operates one journey at 0850 from Wakefield and 1743 from Ilkley all year round, providing a connection to service 874

Service 874 Ilkley to Buckden via Grassington (operated by Arriva Yorkshire)

This service operates two return journeys at 1015 & 1345 from Ilkley and 1215 & 1615 from Buckden all year round

• First West Yorkshire: Services 522/523 will be revised to provide a combined frequency every 10 minutes. Service 576 will be increased to operate every 12 minutes. Services 18/18A, 40/40A, 503, 521, 620/621 will have minor timetable changes

• Arriva Yorkshire: Services 163/166 will be revised with an increased frequency. Services 126, 127, 145/148/149/150, 147/157, 153, 443/444, 446 & 481 will receive a revised peak time timetable. Services 156/159, 167/168, 173/174/175, 177, 184/185/187/188/189, 194/195/196, 202/203, 220/221, 253, 265, 278, 281/282/283, 402/403, 408/409, 410, 420/430, 425/427 & 496 will have minor timetable changes

• First West Yorkshire: Minor changes will be introduced on services 2, 3, 3A, 12, 13, 13A, 16, 16A, 66, 67, 72, 327, 624, 636/637, 846, X6 and the Leeds FreeCityBus. Service 5A will now be extended to Colton

• Halifax Joint Committee: Minor timetable changes will be introduced on services 28A, 36, 392, 509 & 536

• Star Travel: The Wakefield FreeCityBus will once again serve Wakefield Kirkgate station

• Stringers: Service 498 will be withdrawn and service 500 will have a revised timetable

• Transdev Northern Blue: Service 92 will now be operated by Transdev Burnley & Pendle to a revised timetable. Saturday buses will be withdrawn.

Due to the lighter traffic levels during the School summer holidays, the following services will operate to a faster timetable meaning services may run a few minutes earlier at peak times - Services 1, 28, 96, 97, 184 (Huddersfield), 503, X6 & X84

Yesteryear Coaches New service 27 Ingrow KWVR Station - Haworth - Oxenhope KWVR Station, A new summer service will be introduced from 20th July 2009 supplementing the KWVR rail service in the Worth Valley and providing Park & Ride links using vintage buses

Godsons DalesBus New service 898 Bradford - Keighley - Skipton - Malham, This is a new summer Dalesbus service which will operate Wednesdays 19th July, 5th & 19th August 2009

Godsons DalesBus New service 899 Bradford - Keighley - Skipton - Grassington - Kettlewell, This is a new summer Dalesbus service which will operate Wednesdays 29th July, 12th & 26th August 2009

Godsons Leeds DayTripper Service 950 Leeds - Temple Newsam - Lotherton Hall, The Leeds Daytripper service returns for 2009 with a revised timetable and no longer serving Fairburn Ings or Castleford. The service will run Tuesdays to Saturdays from 28th July to 29th August and also Bank Holiday Monday 31st August. Five return journeys will operate each day.

Huddersfield Bus Company Kirklees DayTripper New Service 951 Huddersfield - Holmfirth - Glossop, This is a new service for 2009 reintroducing buses from West Yorkshire to the Peak District. Buses will run five return journeys on Saturdays and Sundays from 25th July to 27th September and also Bank Holiday Monday 31st August. Connections to/from Buxton can be made on Bowers Coaches service 61

Huddersfield Bus Company Kirklees DayTripper Service 956 Huddersfield - Cawthorne - Cannon Hall, This Daytripper service returns for 2009. Three return journeys will operate on Tuesdays to Fridays from 28th July to 29th August and also Bank Holiday Monday 31st August

Note Daytripper service 957 from Holmfirth to Oakwell Hall will not operate this year

• MAIN HEADLINES

• Major changes to First services - First West Yorkshire are making major changes to many services across West Yorkshire. See here for more information

• Independants step in to save services- Some withdrawn First West Yorkshire services are to be replaced by other operators. Geldards Coaches will now operate service 711 to a revised timetable. Service 653 will be replaced between Harrogate and Otley by new services operated by Harrogate Coach Travel. Service X52 will operate every 2 hours from Harrogate to Otley and Ilkley, Service X53 will operate every 2 hours from Harrogate to Otley and Guiseley. Service 653 between Bradford and Otley will now be operated by TLC Travel to a revised timetable. In Huddersfield service 357 will now be run by Halifax Joint Committee and K-Line.

• OTHER CHANGES

• Arriva Yorkshire: Services 110, 115, 117, 119, 120, 147, 157, 167, 168, 173, 174, 175, 408, 409, 420, 444, 446, 481, 485 & X41 will have a revised timetable and/or route. Services 116, 447 & X7 will be withdrawn. A new peak hour service 217 will be introduced between Overton and Leeds. Service 443 will now run Wakefield to Barnsley only

• Huddersfield Bus Company/K-Line: K-Line service 234 will be withdrawn and there will be changes to Huddersfield Bus services 231, 232 and K-Line services 241, 242. K-Line service 261 and Huddersfield Bus service 263 will be replaced by extra service 262 journeys. There will also be minor changes to services 81, 84, 301A/302A, 315 & 319. One Saturday morning journey on service 84 will now run via Lepton and be renumbered 84A. Service 351 will be withdrawn. New Services 85/85A will be introduced between Huddersfield and Barnsley running two return journeys on Wednesdays and Saturdays only

• M Travel: A revised timetable will be introduced on service 487

• Stagecoach in Yorkshire: Services 20, 35, 36/36A, 46, 47 & 59 will have revised timetables. Service 95 will be withdrawn within West Yorkshire

• Star Travel: Service X69 will be withdrawn

• Stringers: Service 498 will be revised to operate schooldays only with some journeys withdrawn

• CHANGES

• Arriva Yorkshire: Minor timetable changes will be introduced on services 209, 213, 221,222, 229, 254, 255, 281 & 282

• First Bradford: Service X6 has a minor timetable change 

• Halifax Joint Committee: There will be minor timetable changes on services 34, 509 & 536. New service 537 with one schooldays only journey will be introduced

• MAIN HEADLINES

• Major changes in North Kirklees - Arriva Yorkshire are making major changes to services in North Kirklees. Services 209, 213, 219, 220, 221, 229, 254, 255, 256, 281, 283 & X25 will receive new routes and timetables, some with major route changes. New services 222 Leeds to Heckmondwike, 225 Leeds to Brighouse and 282 Thornhill Edge to Fieldhead will be introduced. Services 63 & 227 will be withdrawn. Revised timetables will also be introduced on services 126/127, 128, 202/203, 205, 212, 231/232, 253, 262, 268 & 278.

• New Leeds to York express service - A new limited stop service X64 will be introduced by First York operating every 30 minutes between Leeds and York. York Airlink service 787 will be withdrawn.

• Tender changes in Huddersfield - Daytime journeys on services 303 & 338 will pass from First Huddersfield to K-Line. Service 338 is renumbered 304. Services 340, 341 and early morning journeys on service 342 will pass from First Huddersfield to Huddersfield Bus Company.

• Halifax Frequency Reductions - Reduced frequencies will be introduced on some First Calderdale Overground services. Service 508 will be reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes, Servics 576 & 579 will be reduced from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes.

• Holmfirth Connection changes - First Huddersfield are making changes to Holmfirth Connection services. Services 308, 314 & 316 will have revised routes and timetables. Services 313, 313A & X13 will have minor changes. Services X10 & X13 will be withdrawn but new service X11 will be introduced

• New MetroLocal service - A further MetroLocal service operated by Mount Taxis will be introduced. Service ML15 will operate between Milnsbridge and Meltham on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Service ML4 will receive a new route and timetable.

• NightRider services withdrawn - The last two NightRider services 921 & 928 are to be withdrawn by First Leeds. Overnight journeys on services 56 & 95 continue unchanged.

• OTHER CHANGES

• Arriva Yorkshire: Services 119, 148, 150, 177 in the Wakefield area will have minor changes. Services 402/403, 408/409, 412/413 and 492/493 will have revised timetables. Some service 430 journeys will now operate as new service 420 via Cridling Stubbs

• First Bradford: Service 649 has a revised timetable and will now run Bradford to Esholt only

• First Calderdale and Huddersfield: Services 181, 182, 185, 200, 307, 321, 324, 327, 342, 356, 358, 363, 371, 522, 554, 570, 571 & 572 will have minor changes. Services 531, 532, 533, 541, 542 will have a revised route in Halifax town centre. Mixenden services 510, 511, 512 & 523 will be revised again with service 513 reintroduced.

• First Leeds: There will be minor changes to services 12, 13, 13A, 49, 86, 91, 95 & X84. Off Peak service 731 and Peak hour service X96 will be withdrawn

• Jacksons of Silsden: Services 903 has a revised timetable

• Keighley & District: Services 66/66A, 702, 705, 712, 717, 720, 762 will receive early morning, evening and/or Sunday timetable changes to tendered journeys.  Services 78A, 662, 704, 708, 710, 711 & 719 have minor timetable changes

• Smeaton Cars: Service 414 will be withdrawn and replaced by new Arriva Yorkshire service 420

• Stagecoach in Sheffield: A new timetable will be introduced on service 29

• Stringers: New service 498 between Pontefract and Ferry Fryston will be introduced. Services 499 & 500 will also be revised

• Tate's Travel: Minor timetable changes and a new route in Barnsley is introduced on services 59/59A

From Sunday 12th April 2009:

New Service 800 Seacroft - Leeds - Otley - Ilkley - Grassington - Hawes, This service will provide one return journey operated by Godsons

New Service 850 Bradford - Shipley - Ilkley, This service provides a connection to services 800, 874 & 883 from the Bradford area and will be operated by Jackson's of Silsden

New Service 870 Wakefield - Leeds - Otley - Ilkley, This service provides a connection to services 800, 820, 874 & 883 from the Wakefield area and will be operated by Arriva Yorkshire

New Service 872 Skipton - Buckden, This service provides one late afternoon return journey operated by Jackson's of Silsden

Service 874 Ilkley - Grassington - Buckden, This service operates two return journeys operated by Arriva Yorkshire

New Service 883 & Service 884 "Cravenlink" Ilkley - Skipton - Malham, These all year round services are revised with service 883 replacing service 874. Buses run every few hours during the daytime operated by Jackson's of Silsden

Service 890 "Malham Tarn Shuttle" Ilkley - Skipton - Settle - Malham, This service operates one return journey to/from Ilkley and 4 extra journeys between Settle and Malham operated by Jackson's of Silsden. This service also runs on Saturdays from 11th April to 26th September and 24th & 31st October 2009.

From Sunday 3rd May 2009:

New Service 820 "The Eastern Dalesman" Seacroft - Leeds - Otley - Pateley Bridge - Ripon - Lightwater Valley - Leyburn - Richmond, This service will provide one return journey operated by Godsons

MetroCard holders can travel free on services 800, 820, 850, 870, 872, 874, 883 & 884

First Halifax Service 594 Halifax - Hebden Bridge, The summer Sunday service has been introduced to operate every Sunday until 27th September 2009

K-Line Service 900 Huddersfield - Ripponden - Hebden Bridge, The summer Sunday service has been introduced to operate every Sunday until 4th October 2009

First Halifax Service 906 Hardcastle Crags - Hebden Bridge - Widdop Reservoir, This summer service has been introduced to operate 12th and 13th April and then every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd May until 4th October 2009

• Major changes in Leeds - First Leeds are making major changes to services in East, South and West Leeds with some new links, new routes, new timetables and increased frequencies. The main changes include Indigo Line being extended to/from Pudsey, new links to St James's Hospital and improvements to services which don't serve Leeds City Centre. There are also major changes to services in the Belle Isle, Hunslet, Halton & Cross Green areas. Services 4, 5, 8, 9, 16/16A, 18/18A, 33/33A, 38, 42, 44/44A, 49, 50/50A, 61, 62, 63, 63A, 74/74A, 78, 80, 85, 86, 87, 90, 90A, 91, 91A, 97, 961, 962, 965, 967, 968, X11, X14, X84 & X96 will be revised. Services 14, 60, 72A, 73, 76, 82, 88 will be withdrawn. Service 63 between Leeds and Drighlington will now be operated by Arriva Yorkshire.
